ONE STITCH AT A TIME

This week's card was so much fun!  With Sponsors Joanna Sheen and Stitchy Bear Stores, it is going to be a great Challenge, and for sure pop over to ONE STITCH AT A TIME to see what you will win by entering the Challenge.  I must say when I did this card it was snowy time and it does feel a tad strange now that my flowers are blooming, but I hope that like me, you never get tired of seeing the magic of a "sno-globe!"

If you would like the snow person, hop over to where you can find the GINGER LOFT stamps.

DELIGHTFUL CHALLENGES

We have a wonderful Sponsor this week
3 sets from The Cutting Cafe'!!!

THIS WEEKS CHALLENGE WAS
EASTER TREATS

AND TO MAKE A CARD THAT WAS NOT YOUR TYPICAL SQUARE CARD.

SO MANY IMAGES TO CHOSE FROM AT DIGITAL DELIGHTS!  I LOVE THAT.  AS YOU CAN SEE THERE IS A GREAT SPONSOR - IT SEEMS THERE ALWAYS IS ON WENDY'S SITE.  WHAT A COO!

FOR MY CARD, I DECIDED TO USE ONE OF WENDY'S ROUND IMAGES THAT I COULD NOT RESIST.  YOU HAVE TO GO OVER TO THE DELIGHTFUL CHALLENGES BLOG TO NOT ONLY ENTER THE CHALLENGE BUT SEE WHAT THE OTHER DT HAVE USED.  THEY HAVE THE MOST INTERESTING BASKETS ETC.!  LOTS OF GREAT IDEAS FOR EASTER.

I've used the

Some Bunny Loves You Circular Sentiment
Easter Dumpling (colored)

Oh my gosh...now how absolutely adorable is this!!!!

I could not resist sprinking all this Easter Glitter on Easter Dumpling that I used in the passed in my Purim Baskets (A Jewish Celebration where you go door to door and give your neighbours gift baskets full of foods and plenty and love - from different types of trees, fruits, candies, wines, nuts etc. each to celebrate a different food blessing in the Jewish tradition one says before they eat each certain type of food - and all the kids dress up and have a huge circus party - literally!) for my decoration

BLOCKHEADS PAPER ARTS

USING BLEACH!

Over at the Blockheads Blog there is a Challenge (and tutorial) using bleach.  I decided to make up a card using bleach in a rather different, but not too dissimilar way.
I started with black paper and dripped bleach on the paper until it started to turn brown.
I then spritzed bleach on the paper until it started to take on a warmer brown effect.
I then versamarked the Blockhead Stamp Set called FEELING REGAL and stamped the card.
Next I covered with white embossing powder and heated, which served to raise the white on the Blockheads stamp image but also to further lighten the bleached areas.
I then both sponged my bleached areas with some Tim Holtz Weathered colors of Ink and also Sponged my stamped areas with shades of pinks and burgundy.
Then I rubbed the stamped areas with a cloth to the colors of my liking.
I backed my card on brown cardstock, as you can see, with the pink and white and my stamped image much wider than my card, for a really different effect.
The rest of the decorating is history, using Taylored Expressions, Tim Holtz and Basic Grey Products.

I hope you enjoy the outcome!

this paper started out jet black

I am in love with this ribbon!

who hasn't shmushed their liquid pearls while embellishing elsewhere on the card...GRRR

This was fun!  I cut a really think piece of the pink paper and curled with the scissors!

SENTIMENTAL SUNDAYS

USE METAL! at Sentimental Sundays Challenge this week

This week's Sponsor is:
Kenny K Downloads

Kenny has some of the racy-est stamps on the block!
I wanted to include the following, which is on the SS site - it is a great description:
The creator, the artist, the man: KennyK is a NYC-born professional illustrator who has brought his funky-but-slick, urban-influenced look to the cardmaking and papercrafts world.  His signature style can be seen throughout his various collections of sexy pinup babes, sweet 'n sassy girls, cool rockin' dudes, kid’s stuff, retro characters and more at KennyKDownloads.com .

Kenny K stamps have always been one of my favs and way back in my blog, before I became more of a Children's Designer, you will see many a Kenny Image Card!  I hope you like this one and don't forget to go back over to SENTIMENTAL SUNDAYS to check out the other DT's for their cards.

DELIGHTFUL CHALLENGES

FOR SOMEONE SPECIAL

Hey, did you know that it is Mother's Day in the UK?  I didn't, being from Canada.  I love knowing this!  It makes the DT inspiration cards over at DELIGHTFUL CHALLENGES all the more meaningful to me, and I hope to you too.  So HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY all my UK friends.  Another thing I noticed is that the womyn friends I have from the UK are terrific, tremendous, yummalicious artists!  Do they have art as a demand subject all the way through school there?

For my card, and I loved doing this one, I used The Hearts and Roses Set (which included the owl and the sentiment and one other item), The Tree of Love and if you like this owl and wanted one similar, Wendy has illustrated Mrs. Luvvy Owl, which you can purchase over at the store (here).  You can see I pieced them together to make one picture.  I hope you like it UK Mommies!

HAPPY HOOTING

BLOCKHEADS PAPER ARTS

My old style before diving into the world of Children's Images
*We are talking a return to Bohemian Art*
as a Blockheads Guest Designer

I am a guest designer with Blockheads Paper Arts and it is so wonderful because I get to look back to the style of stamping I used to do before jumping head first into the world of Children's stamping style.  Today I am going to post a grouping of pieces I did with their stamps and ask you to take a look at their main site (here) to see the stamps I used.  They also have a blog with tutorials!~ My Gosh, there are SO many more stamps over there to choose from and product galore!

I used such a minimum amount of stamps on these pieces, but (drumroll) on my desk *yipee* is a box holding many, many more stamps, which I just ordered and received yesterday.  I can't wait to create with them.  It is a challenge to return to this style so I'm going back step by step.  So here we go! Nine cards later.  Take your time!!!

CARD EIGHT

CARD NINE

For each of these cards I have used a different technique.  If you are interested in knowing more about what that is, please write to me and let me know the number of the card and I will tell you how it was created and the technique I used with the Stamps.

happy bohemian stamping!

For those people coming to comment why not hook up cards from your own sites here?  They also will hook up over at Blockheads Paper Arts and on everyone else's site who enters.  GREAT exposure for your own blog!!!
