EACH AND EVERY DAY....

...the trees are looking more beautiful in their radiant Autumn colors.  I look out my studio bay window and see reds, oranges, hues of green and yellow.  They all belong to the mystery of the turning season called Fall.  How does G-d do it?  Today is dedicated to Transformation and to my own best wisdom to Treasure Always & Forever these magnificent elements that we don't necessarily (in our simplest observation) understand.

HOLIDAY JOURNAL is on its way...

ok folks, i broke down and am thinking holidays!  As soon as I said "EEK it's too soon" I began wondering... "hmmm, what will I do for the holidays, who will I send cards to, do I have the stamps that I need for this year?   Isn't life just like that, don't think of pink elephants!  The solution? Crack out last year's creation, The Holiday Journal and begin again.  Time to update the journal to 2009 and get crackin' as the saying goes. I can almost see sugar plums and fairies and menorah's and dreidels! The post is long...I hope you will find The Holiday Journal helpful.  I'd be lost without it!

Note:  For those peeps who do not celebrate Christmas, and we are a multi-faith family, I sincerely wish I could create a journal for each and every celebration around the globe! If you have your own creation of another faith tradition's journal, please post a link to my blog and share it with us...xox

PRETTY WOMAN...walkin' down the street...

What a fantastic movie that was.  Well, in my view, anything with Richard Gere is a fantastic movie, not to mention sexy as (ahem) heck!  Today's card is dedicated to Sankari and the Sankari Cinema Saturday Challenge.  If you are not familiar with it, if I may say so, you should be (little bossy boots ey.)  Sankari et al post a movie title and from that title one creates a card.  The inspiration can come from anything to do with that movie.  Oh drat, should have just taken a picture of Richard Gere and glued it to a piece of cardstock!  Julie Roberts is pretty gorgeous too, so I went with her.  So, here's to Julia and to all you PRETTY WOMEN out there!

My forgettory is better than my memory...

The one thing I knew, long before I began this blog, is that my forgettory is much more asute than my memory.  It is so well developed, in fact, that I can forget anything I am told within about 5 minutes; that number might even be less than 5!  Therefore, when developing my plan for the blog, I was sure there would be no bloggi without a handy dandy journal to list the art product I use as I go along.  Not being the type of artist that plans what she does before doing it (thus my Bohemian Artist style) I can easily lose track by the end of the task of what I employ, getting lost amongst the mish-mash of stamping supplies.

You are my pride and joy...

...and you are my sunshine.  Today's card is a celebration of sunshine, an element that is precious to so many who suffer the dulldrums when it sneaks behind those fluffy fluffies.  Thankfully, there is a solution, at least one that I know, that arrives once a month...oops...not the one you might be thinking of.  Stay with me.

When my monthly subscription arrived from Taylored Expressions,  sunshine sparkled in The Scrappy and Happy Workshop.  Yahoo!   The vibrancy of the colors Taylor included in this kit stirred excitement in my tummy. I had to crack the pack and go through each and every paper.  It is just wonderful to be able to put the kit on the shelf and when I am pondering what to do, the wonderful kit calls me to crack it open again.  This week was just like that!

This was a card that delighted my every sense while I was creating it.  Some cards are just like that, aren't they.  I used a variety of product for the inside (and the outside) and will just say, each second of this card was a thrill.  Sunshine was in my heart and was, with good fortune, also beaming in the bay window of The Scrappy and Happy Workshop.  Enjoy!  SQUISHY HUGS.

IT'S A HAPPY TIME to celebrate life in all its many colors!

Holiday is the word that comes to mind today.  The fire colors of the turning trees (I live in Ontario, Canada) come to mind today.   Many blogs are showing Christmas cards (eek) and Halloween cards (muahhhhh.)  Right now, in the Jewish Faith Tradition, it is New Year's - Rosh HaShanna.  It is a times to give thanks, to begin again, to celebrate the year past and to look ahead, with new eyes, to the upcoming and fresh year.  One of the traditions of this time is to blow an instrument called a "shofar."  My card today celebrates both the Horn of plenty (Thanksgiving) and the Shofar, (both represented by the Paisley motif,) taking into consideration the striking colors of Halloween.  The card begged to be surrounded by the most colorful accessories in my studio, of course, my inks.

OK folks, not yet ready for Christmas cards, but thank you to all who start making and showing them in January.

May everyone celebrating these holidays, in all faith traditions, be blessed with happiness and wonderful memories to celebrate for years to come. SQUISHY HUGS.

...store that just sells ladybug stuffs in Australia!

I woke up today to a note on my facebook from my daughter Ayla, who I mentioned was at University in Australia.  She had tagged this picture as "Samara."  I was very curious because this photo is of my daughter, surrounded with my most precious winged thingi-doodles - ladybugs!  There is a store in Sydney, Australia that is devoted to only Ladybugs.  Far-out!  It is good it is she that is there and not me; I would exceed my luggage limit for sure!

On to my cards.  My first card is a mosaic of butterflies.  I was so attracted by this stamp.  It feels like butterflies look! Coloring this card with my SU markers was so relaxing.  If you love detail, you will love working with this stamp!

As well today, I couldn't resist offering you a card devoted to a powerful flyer in the sky, the owl.  My son and I are reading The Ga'Hoole series. I am  in awe of the power of the owl. Taylor's on book 13 and I'm on book 3 (I'm busy on the blog and art - ahem.)  Today's card, therefore, is dedicated to "Soren"  the owl in the book series Guardians of GaHoole by Kathryn Lasky.  SQUISHY HUGS.

Celebrating the new SCS Dirty Dozen Gal - Mary Fish from Stampin' Pretty

Today's card is to recognize SU's own sweetums Mary Fish.  She has been artfully selected and invited to be part of Splitcoast Stamper's Dirty Dozen Gals.  Hmmm catchy little name!  Should you (and you really should) want to see Mary's and the other Dirty Dozen Gal's creations, hop on over and become a Fan Club Gallery Member, yes this is me doing promotion!  However, I couldn't resist once I heard this gem and sweetie was on the team.

Oh, right, my card.  It is my celebration of this month's theme from the FCG.  Theme: more or less "fluttery" thingis (best you hop over and read the thread yourself; this little samara tends towards visual dyslexia.)  So, for me, this fluttery thingi - if it's not a lady bug, it is demanding to be a flutterby.  Hmmm.  I love bees too...really!   SQUISHY HUGS...

Welcome to the marrakech express!

The possibilities are endless!  This is a yummy *my favorite word for other than SU* paper pack that inspired me to cut and seam and create a card set.  It is far out when paper packs come with rub ons or embellishments.  Such a treat to have all the yummies in one tidy little space.  It was a joy to take the reprieve of my otherwise very creatively messy workspace while creating this tidy little number.  I hope you enjoy this little "marrakech express" I've posted for today.

YAY FOR SUNSHINE....and beautiful colors to come.

All around me people are mentioning "Autumn."  I try to turn off my hearing, or go into instant forgettory.  The fact is though...it is creeping up.  My thoughts turn to the awe inspiring photography ahead.  There is excitement in the thought of the blogs I will receive filled with groovy earth colors!  Hmmm colors!!!  Yup,  I'm getting ready too.  But pleeeez G-d keep that sunshine flowing... a itty bitty prayer from your little Samara!  SQUISHY HUGS
